HALF-DAY GRAND TETON

Description

Majestic mountains form a backdrop while searching for bison, elk, moose, pronghorn, bear, and birds of prey. A few of the many options may include Mormon Row to visit the historic barns with their iconic background, Elk Flats to view wildlife in a classic prairie setting, famed Jenny Lake with its bucolic views of the lake and mountains, Willow Flats, or Pilgrim Creek in search of grizzly. We may visit Jackson Lake Lodge with its breathtaking views, and perhaps take a short stroll along String Lake (you will see why). We’ll see the Snake River oxbows or possibly Schwabacher’s landing for the infamous water reflections, and, depending on conditions, perhaps travel the Moose-Wilson road to spot black bear and moose just to name a few.  We are only constrained by time we have as to the choices, but will make great ones none the less!

The use of binoculars and a spotting scope conquer the challenges often encountered by distance when the naked eye is just not enough, or simply to enjoy the detail one can get with the use of special equipment.

We have the ability to take photos utilizing both the spotting scope with my iPhone generating spectacular images.

"Great Half-Day Tour!"

Greg Eich picked us up at our lodge in Jackson Hole and returned us there as well. All along our beautiful and majestic route, he told of us all the history of this area. We saw so many beautiful spots; if we didn't have all the pictures it would be hard to remember them all. We saw moose, elk, black bear, red-tail hawk, bison, coyote and prong-horn deer. We saw at least 5 lakes including Jackson Lake and Lake Jenny. We were extremely close to the base of parts of the Tetons. Greg shared information on how the mountains and valleys as well as the lakes were formed. He also gave us some of the "local" favorites to eat. And he shared with us two other drives we should do while we are here: Lower Slide Lake and Granite Hot Springs. We drove to Lower Slide Lake later that same day, and it was worth the drive for sure. Hope to be able to drive to Granite Hot Springs when we return from our Yellowstone trip over the next few days. Thanks Greg!  (Charlene, Grand Teton Half-Day Tour, September 2019)

Greg Eich is the best guide ever!!

We had an amazing half-day+ tour with Greg all to ourselves! He is a living history book of the background of the entire Teton National Park area and wild west history. He expertly found the prime places, both in nature and inside resorts, to spot wildlife. With his guidance and scope, we saw wolves, bears playing (!), pronghorns and bison. We enjoyed amazing views of Jenny Lake and Jackson Lake and the gorgeous vistas of mountains and valleys. We had an absolutely wonderful, long afternoon of information and sight overload! My husband and I cannot recommend Greg enough for his company and knowledge. Ask him about "Eat Like a Fish"...very educational!  Date of experience: September 2019       Reviewed September 18, 2019
